In the world of superyacht design, “never been done before” is a phrase that gets used far too often. But when Sanlorenzo unveiled Virtuosity on 27 June 2026 in La Spezia, the industry paused. This is a 73-metre, 1,950-GT vessel with a living tree growing through two decks, a submerged aquarium built directly into the hull, and a 230-square-metre Ocean Resort beach club \u2014 by any measure, the most ambitious build in Sanlorenzo’s history.<\/p>\n

Four Years in the Making \u2014 Including 18 Months of Weekly Calls<\/h2>\n

The story of Virtuosity is as much about process as it is about the finished vessel. Sanlorenzo reports that the owner began weekly calls with the shipyard 18 months before the design phase even commenced. By the time construction began in late 2022, more than four years of continuous dialogue had already shaped every detail of the spatial concept. This is not a semi-custom build with a few bespoke finishes \u2014 it is a yacht conceived from the foundations up around one person’s vision of life at sea.<\/p>\n

Exterior lines come from Zuccon International Project, a studio that designed both hulls in the 74Steel series. Where the first hull \u2014 the 72-metre Silver Fox, launched October 2025 \u2014 carries a vertical bow, Virtuosity adopts a more tapered, forward-leaning profile, creating a distinctly dynamic character on the water. The interior was entrusted to Studio Paolo Ferrari, working in close collaboration with Sanlorenzo’s own Style Department.<\/p>\n
